Responding to suffering
In response to crises across the globe, the Big Give are able to quickly establish match funding campaigns. In doing so, we can quickly release vital funds to be able to relieve suffering for the local people affected. We work in partnership with the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) and will generally launch our emergency appeal at the same time as they launch theirs.
From earthquakes, tropical storms, drought, famine and conflict, the Big Give has responded at times of greatest need. You can see all of the match funding campaigns we have run on our timeline.

The Big Give raised over £770,000 in response to the Nepal Earthquake
Which charities do we support?
We work closely with established UK-registered charities who are responding to the crises. If you are interested in being included as an emergency charity, please get in touch by emailing info@thebiggive.org.uk. Charities must:
- Have a track record of responding to humanitarian emergencies.
- Have taken part in a Big Give match funding campaign (emergency or Christmas Challenge).
- Be actively responding to the crises in hand.
Interested in match funding?
Are you or your organisation interested in providing match funding the next time disaster strikes? If you would like to commit at least £1,000 to double donations in the midst of a crisis, please get in touch by emailing champions@thebiggive.org.uk.
