The Christmas Challenge Awards is a chance for the Big Give to recognise the campaign’s most successful participating charities. Winning charities will be awarded cash prizes of £1,000 and upwards. Charities will be judged on:
- How much they have exceeded their Christmas Challenge fundraising target: the more charities raise above their target, the more chance they have of winning an award.
- How they engaged with their supporters in the campaign: we’re looking for examples of great planning, execution and learning to be used as a showcase to other charities.
- Creative marketing approaches: did the charity market the Christmas Challenge in a new, different or innovative way?
There will be at least 8 awards made to charities including an overall winner and two runners up, best international charity, best UK charity, best “newcomer” to the Christmas Challenge, best small charity (annual income under £1m) and best children’s charity.
The awards will be judged by a panel chaired by Sir Alec Reed CBE (founder of the Big Give) and winners will be announced in February 2017. A short application will be circulated to eligible charities after the Christmas Challenge has been completed.
To be eligible for the awards, a charity must be in receipt of Champion and Pledge funds; must have at least hit their Christmas Challenge fundraising targets; and must have complied with the Christmas Challenge Terms & Conditions.
If you think you’re eligible and would like to apply, please email info@thebiggive.org.uk for instructions. The deadline to enter the Christmas Challenge Awards is 5pm, Friday 13th January 2017.
